Revit & Enscape — Junior Interior Design Studio, Fall ‘23
Compartmentalization in Conversation is a live-work pod designed to act as a temporary place of refuge for someone looking to stay somewhere remote in order to truly focus on their work. We were given three differently sized shipping containers to work with for the building structure of this home — sizes including 8’x20’x9’, 8’x30’x9’, and 8’x40’x9’. We were allowed to use a maximum of three shipping containers and were told to arrange them however we saw fit.
In my temporary living pod, I designed a triangular home with my three shipping containers sized 8’x40’x9’. This triangular shape allowed me to further pursue my concept of compartmentalization in conversation in relation to the division of spaces for working, playing, and living. The spaces within this home as a whole are subtly and seamlessly divided — creating a harmonious balance of public and private spaces of various applications split into areas designated for working (office), playing (TV room), and living (kitchen) and with several multipurpose spaces for a combination of uses.
