A membership-based co-working space in Richmond designed for parents balancing professional work with childcare for kids aged 0–5.

Rendering of a parent-focused co-working space integrated with childcare

Revit & Enscape — Junior Interior Design Studio, Spring ‘24

This membership-based co-working space in the Richmond metro area is designed for parents striving to balance professional work with childcare. It provides a supportive community, dedicated workspaces, and a safe, engaging childcare zone for children aged 0–5 inspired by Montessori principles.

The layout seamlessly integrates productivity and family needs, featuring a spacious central work area that connects to a communal space with a coffee bar and garden, which can also serve as an event venue. Surrounding this core are essential amenities including private offices, phone booths, a conference room, a private lounge, bathrooms, and a printing area. The children’s section, located on the right side of the building, is divided into three age-specific zones, with a central library acting as a transition between work and play and providing direct access to an outdoor playground.

Thoughtfully designed to foster both professional growth and family well-being, this space ensures that parents can work with peace of mind while their children thrive in a nurturing environment.
