Graphite and marker observational sketch of an interior at the VMFA

Graphite and Marker — Junior Advanced Interior Graphics I, Spring ‘24

This project involved on-site interior sketching exercises to hone our quick observation and rendering skills. Our task was to complete three 10-minute interior sketches and three 20-minute interior sketches, using drafting tools like a viewfinder, triangle, or straight edge and photos taken at the site as reference as needed.

We were then instructed to choose our best two sketches from this series and render them manually using tone, color, entourage, and refined line work.
